Newborn Care

Your baby’s first days are a special and important time, and TLC Pediatrics of Amarillo is here to support you every step of the way. We recommend scheduling your newborn’s first office visit within the first 3–5 days after discharge from the hospital.

We typically see your baby at:

• 3–5 days of age – to check feeding, weight, and overall health
• 2 weeks of age – for ongoing growth and development evaluation

If your newborn experiences feeding challenges, weight concerns, jaundice, or other issues, we may schedule additional visits to ensure your baby is thriving.

What to Bring: Please bring your hospital discharge paperwork to your first visit so we can have a complete understanding of your baby’s care during the hospital stay.
