Below are a few links to websites with a wide range of information for expecting parents. TLC Pediatrics of Amarillo has no relationship with any of the sites listed below.

My child needs a sports physical. How do I go about getting one? ?

As long as your child has had a physical in our office in the last 12 months, we can fill out a sports form based on that physical. If your child has not had a checkup in the previous year, you will need to schedule a well-child appointment.

I need copies of my child’s immunization records. How can I get these?

Please call the front desk at (806)353-7900 to request copies of your child’s records.

I’m concerned about contagion in the doctor’s office. Is there anything I can do?

TLC Pediatrics of Amarillo is dedicated to keeping healthy kids healthy and getting sick kids their treatment. That’s why we have two separate waiting rooms! For well visits and vaccines, enter through the “Well” entrance. If your child is not feeling well, please use the “Sick” entrance.

What are my payment responsibilities and options?

Payment, including co-pays and co-insurance, is expected at the time of service. If you are experiencing a financial hardship, please contact our billing department at (806)353-7900, and we will do our best to work out a payment arrangement that is suitable for you.

What if I have an emergency or need care after hours?

Payment, including co-pays and co-insurance, is expected at the time of service. If you are experiencing financial hardship, please contact our billing department at (806)353-7900, and we will do our best to work out a payment arrangement that is suitable for you.

I am an expecting a baby. I have chosen Dr. Maaytah as my pediatrician. What do I need to do next?

We are happy that you are entrusting us with the care of your sweet baby! The only thing that you need to do is notify the hospital upon check-in that you have chosen Dr. Maaytah as your provider. The hospital will contact our office when your baby is born, and shortly after your delivery, one of our providers will come and examine your baby.

I just had a baby. When do I need to add Him (Her) to my insurance?

Congratulations on the birth of your new baby! With most insurance companies, you have 30 days to add a new baby to your policy. We recommend that you call as soon as possible; if you wait past the 30 days, most insurance carriers will not make exceptions, and your child will not be able to be insured until your plan’s next open enrollment period.

My child needs a prescription refill; what should I do?

Please call our office at 806-353-7900, and if you have any questions, feel free to contact our office and we will gladly assist you.

My child was seen in the Emergency Room. Do I need to inform my pediatrician?

Since we are your medical home, it is essential to notify us when your child is seen by another provider, whether in the emergency room or at an urgent care facility. We need to get a copy of your medical records so that we can be an active participant in your healthcare team.

What happens if I can’t keep an appointment?

We ask that whenever possible, please give a 24-hour notice of canceling an appointment. Especially during the fall and winter seasons, many children are ill, and your cancelation may allow us to see other children in need. Appointments canceled with less than 24-hour notice may be considered no-shows, and multiple no-shows may result in dismissal from the practice.
